New books:
Check out these new titles!
Our next Teen Book Club meeting will be held on [UPDATE] Tuesday January 4th at 5:00 p.m. at the library. We'll be reading 'The Forest of Hands and Teeth' by Carrie Ryan and copies of the book are available to be picked-up or reserved at the main circulation desk.
About the book:
In Mary's world there are simple truths. The Sisterhood always knows best. The Guardians will protect and serve. The Unconsecrated will never relent. And you must always mind the fence that surrounds the village; the fence that protects the village from the Forest of Hands and Teeth. But, slowly, Mary’s truths are failing her. She’s learning things she never wanted to know about the Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power, and about the Unconsecrated and their relentlessness. When the fence is breached and her world is thrown into chaos, she must choose between her village and her future—between the one she loves and the one who loves her. And she must face the truth about the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Could there be life outside a world surrounded in so much death?
For November, the Teen Book Club will be reading 'Leviathan' by Scott Westerfeld. Copies of the book are available to be picked-up/reserved at the main circulation desk and the group is interested to all ages 13-18. For more information, just give the library a call at (207) 764-2571.
Our next Teen Book Club meeting will be held on Tuesday October 26th at 5:00 p.m. in the Presque Isle High School Library. We'll be discussing 'Shiver' by Maggie Stiefvater. Copies of the book are available to be picked-up/reserved at the main circulation desk. For more information, please give me a call at (207) 764-2571.
About 'Shiver':
For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human... until the cold makes him shift back again.
Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.
For next month, the Teen Book Club will discuss 'Just Listen' by Sarah Dessen. The meeting will be held at the library on Tuesday September 28 at 5:00 p.m. and copies of the book are available to be picked-up or reserved at the main circulation desk. For more information, call (207) 764-2571.
